Standardized transit training courses can be adapted to address the diverse needs and resources of transit organizations. Your organization’s distinctive training style will determine how Vigil Solutions programs are delivered. Typical formats for delivering transit training include:
Classroom Training — Vigil Solutions classroom-ready transit training allows instructors to spend less time preparing and more time teaching. We provide all materials — and an instructor if necessary — to present the class in standard lecture style. Lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, and student handouts are provided in a format that can be reproduced in-house.
Computer-Based Training — Computer-based training (CBT) provides the content of classroom instruction in an interactive format via personal computer. Each Vigil Solutions CBT program verifies that students understand each learning point before moving to the next topic. Courses can be self-paced (the student controls the pace at which lessons are presented) or administered by an instructor in a group setting with exercises to reinforce the techniques and ideas presented in the CBT.
Web-Based Training — This format integrates CBT courses with a Learning Management System (LMS) to create a comprehensive training product. Web-based training has generally been available only to larger transit agencies; however, Vigil Solutions' use of innovative technologies enables a pricing structure that allows even small organizations to enjoy the benefits of state-of-the-art transit training. In web-based training, students can complete courses on-demand as their schedule allows. The LMS tracks and stores all student information in a database and automatically generates progress reports.
Blended Training Solutions — The blended training approach combines the advantages of CBT with the benefits of classroom instruction. Vigil Solutions provides all classroom materials, including lesson plans and student learning materials.
