VigilNavigator is a portable, integrated navigational system that alerts operators to temporary route changes, detours or traffic hazards. Information provided by VigilNavigator is constantly updated.

VigilNavigator eliminates the need for relying on veteran operators to share their knowledge of transportation routes with trainees. Conversely, trainees won’t have to retain an infinite number of route details – with this device, information is presented to drivers using just-in-time technology, so that information is up-to-date and accurate.

HOW IT WORKS

Unlike traditional route training which requires printed directions and instructor coaching, VigilNavigator uses left-right directional audio and visual prompts as the basis for instruction, as well as just-in-time prompting for route issues such as detours or traffic hazards.

Audio alerts provide safety enhancements since it is far safer to follow audio instructions than attempting to drive and read instructions. On approach, operators receive audio and visual prompts regarding turns and hot spots in addition to hazard-related information which originates from a database containing data collected from agency professionals.
